Premiere of La Casa de Bernarda Calva.

Mayabeque, Cuba: The premiere of La Casa de Bernarda Calva, a satire by the Guantanamo playwright Edier Pérez, based on one of Federico García Lorca’s best-known works, and directed by the young instructor Yosbel Reyes Ricardo, becomes one of the greatest recent cultural events in the Melena del Sur municipality.

Hygienic-sanitary measures, in the midst of the complex epidemiological situation, limited access to a nostalgic public for a demonstration with a story in this southern town.

Those present enjoyed in their own land, the magnificent performances of Jaqueline Carmona Soler, Iris Pérez Alfonso and Magda Quiñones Martínez, directed by Reyes Ricardo.

The actors gave effect, when the Irish playwright, born in the 19th century, George Bernard Shaw, said: “Without art, the harshness of reality would make the world unbearable.”
