Havana: In order to timely detect people infected with SARS-Cov-2, the coronavirus that causes Covid-19, population studies with PCR tests are being carried out in Havana, Prensa Latina publishes.
The samples are taken from citizens who coincide within the community with others who are already positive for the disease, and in homes where several people, young people and workers live together, mainly, since they are the ones who more often move, the Tribuna de La Habana newspaper reported.
According to Lilian Zulueta, the head of the basic work group of the 19 de Abril Polyclinic in the capital’s neighborhood of Nuevo Vedado, asymptomatic patients are sought because people with associated symptoms are discovered, generally, during investigations.
The Cuban capital is the most affected territory in the country, with the highest number of infections, and maintains a complex epidemiological situation due to the dispersion of positive cases for Covid-19 in all its municipalities.
