According to a source from the Cardiovascular Hospital of the Cuban capital, the Cuban meteorologist went to the hospital yesterday for personal reasons and while there he felt poor health for which he was hospitalized.

According to the information, he is stable after angioplasty and the placement of a stent, admitted to the Intensive Coronary ward of the Institute of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery.

The Doctor of Sciences, José Rubiera, 74, is under constant surveillance by a medical team.

For decades director of the National Forecasting Center of the Institute of Meteorology of Cuba, the expert is one of the most respected faces by Cubans in times of storms and hurricanes, phenomena that frequently hit the Island.
