Mayabeque scientists contribute to food production.

Mayabeque, Cuba: The workers of the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences, located in Mayabeque, contribute to the production of food through the elaboration of bio-products such as: Azofer, Ecomic, and especially Quitomax.

These assortments are in high demand for their properties to protect crops against potential pathogens and positively influence plant growth.

The Doctor of Science René Florido Bacallao, director of development of the scientific center, assured that they currently have contracts with different provinces such as Santi Spíritus, Cienfuegos, Matanzas and Mayabeque.

The general director of INCA, Doctor of Science Alexander Miranda Caballero, specified that throughout these years, they have worked in the production and extension of new and excellent varieties of rice, obtained in this institution. Another significant result of these researchers is the cultivation of soybeans to strengthen the feeding of pigs.

The preparation of technicians and producers for the use of machinery donated by the government of Japan for the mechanized transplantation of rice, is another of the recent tasks of this group.
