Beijing: China today accused the United States of spreading a political virus with unfounded allegations about the origin of Covid-19 and denounced that such behavior is incompatible with international solidarity and cooperation efforts, Prensa Latina publishes.
Zhang Jun, permanent representative of the country to the United Nations (UN), rejected the criticisms of the US President, Donald Trump, and warned that he abuses the United Nations platform to provoke confrontation and generate divisions.
“The United States weakens the UN, the World Health Organization (WHO) and other bodies within the same entity, while undermining the authority and effectiveness of the UN?, he said.
He mentioned the support of the international community for that position, and the rejection of unilateralism and any practice of intimidation by Washington.
He commented on China’s battle to control the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and its consequent pneumonia, the exchange of experiences with the WHO and other countries, and also the sending of assistance to different regions of the planet.
Zhang urged the Trump administration to focus on making amends in the face of the current pandemic, as its territory has one of the highest rates of deaths and infections in the world.
