Social organization denounce in France a campaign of terror by Bolivian coup leaders.

Paris: Bolivians living in France today denounced a campaign of intimidation and violence promoted by sectors of the coup in the South American country to frighten the population ahead of the general elections next Sunday, Prensa Latina publishes.

Organizations such as Wiphala France repudiated the climate of tensions generated by the de facto government, headed by Jeanine Áñez, and by paramilitary groups, as well as its escalation as the elections approach, with the aim of preventing a victory for the Movement to Socialism (MAS) at the polls.

The newly created organization rejected the attacks against members of the MAS and indigenous peoples, whom they accuse of being violent and of police aggressors, when the opposite occurs.

The polls give an advantage to Luis Arce (president) -David Choquehuanca (vice president) binomial, representatives of the political party overthrown at the end of last year in the coup against the leader Evo Morales.

Wiphala France called for the attention of the international community on what is happening in Bolivia, in particular the hostile crusade of Áñez and the extreme right with their armed arms Unión Juvenil Cruceñista and Resistencia Juvenil Cochala, in charge of spreading terror.

It is urgent the world be sensitive to this situation and the importance of the October 18 elections for the return to democracy on Bolivian soil, it stressed.

The document includes specific cases of attacks against the MAS, citizens who exercise their right to protest and electoral authorities, such as the attack suffered a few days ago in Santa Cruz by Saúl Paniagua, and demands an end to impunity.

In a dialogue with Prensa Latina, the representative of Wiphala France, Janet Ramos, also denounced the maneuvers to prevent the vote of Bolivians residing abroad, which she considered part of the strategy of the coup plotters to remove the MAS from power.

A MAS victory would ratify the falsehood of the alleged fraud used as a pretext for the coup, he said.
