As he added, in this result of the past visits a high level of response to the indications is expressed, since the remaining six are in process and have been specified, while now they have again been able to appreciate that environment of creativity, work and effort, in a province where new things have been achieved every time.
In a special way, it recognized the response of the territory to COVID-19, which has allowed it to accumulate five and a half months without having positive cases, as a result of the systematic and cohesive work in the application of the confrontation measures by the Health sector, the Party, the Government, the Revolutionary Armed Forces, the Ministry of the Interior, and especially for the conscious participation of the people of Santiago.
However, he insisted that no one should be trusted, because ?that at this time we do not have positive cases in Santiago de Cuba, we cannot deny the cases that there may be, the possibility that there are asymptomatic people walking on the street and simply do not know they detect, because it is one of the ways of the behavior of the disease, but above all because we cannot trust ourselves of a disease that is lurking.
“Now the new normality demands more of us, we have to be more demanding in the investigation, more timely in detecting any cases that may exist, more timely also in working with suspects and their contacts because now the challenge is not to fall into outbreaks, and if it occurs it is necessary to get out of that situation as quickly as possible?.
Regarding the considerations about the places personally visited, Díaz-Canel highlighted the experience of La Fortaleza farm, of Aida Dolz, as one of those that should be multiplied immediately because the things that have been criticized in other places there work well, and he said that by identifying 400 producers to generalize the project, the demand for pork is resolved in the country.
In the same sense, he valued the importance for the nation of the new cement factory that is being built with Cuban capital to the east of this city. It will be a totally new plant, with the latest cutting-edge technology in the production of the important aggregate, and it is a sign of the strength with which Cuba continues to advance.
