Raúl and Díaz-Canel Attend National Assembly of People’s Power Session

Havana: Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, and the president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, attend the Fifth Regular Period of sessions at the Havana Convention Center of the National Assembly of People’s Power (ANPP), in its IX Legislature, Cubadebate publishes.

The legislators will approve the liquidation of the State Budget in 2019 and will receive updated information on the new socio-economic strategy of the country, at the same time that new deputies will take office.

Likewise, the Foreign Service Law, the Law of Organization and Operation of the Council of Ministers, the Law of Revocation of the Elected to the Organs of People’s Power, and the Law of the President and Vice President of the Republic will be submitted for approval.

Prior to this session, the legislators met virtually, discussed and responded to the 41 interventions made on October 20 on the four bills.

Likewise, the 20 new deputies elected by their respective municipal assemblies of People’s Power, who will take office this Wednesday, were sworn in.

On that same day, the opinions of the bills and the liquidation of the State budget in 2019 were announced, which will be approved on October 28.

The day before, the parliamentarians focused their eyes on the confrontation with COVID-19, as well as the advances of the economic and social strategy and the monetary order.
