Mayabeque, Cuba: The Provincial Academy of Sports with Ball, located in Bejucal, began its sports activities today.
According to the youth basketball coach, Carlos Luis Roque Ochoa, the training sessions began for the youths in the morning section and classes in the afternoon; while schoolchildren attend teaching and then practice from 2:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon, to take advantage of daylight and thus save electricity.
The school category trains with a view to the basketball qualifier, in April, and the juniors seek their entry to the national competition, in June.
Football practitioners, in both categories, are preparing to be included in the discipline’s competitions in February.
All the areas were certified by the qualified health personnel of the territory. In addition, they demand strict compliance with hygienic-sanitary measures, in courts and classrooms, Roque Ochoa said.
