Mayabeque, Cuba: Luces del Alma is the title of the handicraft exhibition exhibited at the Genaro de la Rosa Culture House, in San José de las Lajas, a space where the love of crafts is present.

This exhibition presents pieces by 15 artists and collaborators of the Raíces Cubanas community project, by creator Mercedes Hernández Hernández.

This exhibition available to the public until the 20th of this month has garments and household items made with crochet fabric and draping technique.

In addition, to rescue traditions they exhibit kitchen towels, pot holders, rugs and bedspreads.

A very suggestive piece is a statue of Che made on a large scale, with pieces of bottles. This is a work by the artist, from Melena del Sur, Iván Hernández Sánchez, who has two other similar sculptures of José Martí and Antonio Maceo.
