Cuba: The Central Bank of Cuba (BCC by its Spanish initials) reported today on the reduction of its opening hours in all branches of Havana, as new measures in the face of the epidemiological situation due to COVID-19, Cubasí reports.

The Central Bank of Cuba decided to maintain banking services and reduce the opening hours of branches and exchange houses until 6:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. local time, the national entity that operates in the capital reported.

Based on the new measures taken last Friday by the Provincial Defense Council (CDP) to return Havana to the post-pandemic Phase one, the branches of Metropolitan Bank, Credit and Commerce Bank and Popular Savings Bank will work as Monday to Saturday from 08:30 to 18:00.

The remaining provinces will adapt, according to the guidelines of the governments in each territory, the BCC points out.

In correspondence with the monetary ordering process in the country, at the beginning of January the service hours of the bank branches were extended from 08:30 to 19:30 in Havana, and from 08:00 to 20:00 in the rest of the country.

Faced with the complex epidemiological situation in the capital, on January 9, the CDP of Havana decided to implement the regression to Phase one of the recovery stage and the adoption of restrictive measures in the city.

Among the 22 general measures adopted, it was agreed to eliminate the activity of cinemas, theaters and bars; stop public and private transport between nine at night and five in the morning, and stop all interprovincial transport from Tuesday, including private porters.
