Mayabeque, Cuba: The Marta Martínez Figuera Contingent, made up of Public Health professionals of Güines, was constituted to guarantee medical assistance for residents in restricted areas and hospitals in the current scenario.
The Vice President of the Municipal Defense Council, José Ariel Cantero Barreto, said that the members have vast experience in dealing with disasters and serious epidemics both locally, nationally and internationally.
This group represents unconditional support for the fight against Covid-19.
Cantero Barreto added that this will allow the Municipal Directorate of Public Health to organize community work integrated into the Popular Council and strengthen the work of the family doctor and nurse.
Among its principles is to promote health actions to avoid contagion with the pandemic.
The Vice President of the Municipal Defense Council added that this team will join the focus control, the investigations, the control of travelers and health education.
These doctors and nurses are proud to pay this way tribute to Marta Martínez Figuera the first internationalist woman from Güines to receive the Medal of Valor.
