Mayabeque, Cuba: The operators of the Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA) in San José de las Lajas, are working on the installation of 4G technology in all the municipal centers of the province in order to optimize the quality of the mobile phone service.

The Communicator of ETECSA, Pedro Cotilla Martínez, argued: “intense work has been developed in the last two months and thanks to that we already have 9 municipalities of the 11 that the province has, with these facilities?.

“This implies higher connection speed, better service, more people connected; we only have Madruga and Melena del Sur left, with a completion date this January or February?. The Internet connection with 4G also enables a better service in communication with family members, and the search for information?.

The installation of technology is one of the priorities of the country to advance in the process of computerization of society. Regarding its benefits, Cotilla Martínez said: ?it will allow electronic commerce to develop, in the case of Tranfermóvil, through an application that ETECSA has implemented with banks and there is a new version that will assume another module that will make it easier for people to buy using the QR code, in the establishments of self-employed workers?.

At another point in his statements, the Communicator of the Telephone Company in Mayabeque, advanced: ?We are carrying out a series of very important tasks this year, which will make a significant difference in the way people exploit the technology”.

4G mobile telephony covers speeds between 20 and 50 MB per second and is close to fiber optic levels, favorable conditions for the demanded service.
