Mayabeque, Cuba: In the midst of the complex scenario caused by the global epidemiological crisis caused by Covid-19, the agriculture in the Melena del Sur municipality is getting off to a good start in 2021 and encouraging expectations in terms of food production.

According to the deputy director of the Agricultural Company of the territory, Alejandro Fraga Curbelo, deliveries to the collection center are satisfactorily fulfilled.

He added that they have planted different crops such as banana, sweet potatoes, taro, potatoes, beans, squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, which is what gives the yield and quality to be able to export them.

?Despite our efforts, we were unable to comply with the production plans in one of the most difficult periods of the last decade, but we have the willingness of the peasants and their commitment to the vital task, in a year that is looming with similar economic complexity?, Fraga Curbelo highlighted.
