United States: The president-elect of the United States, Joe Biden, will send to Congress today an immigration bill that promises citizenship for millions of immigrants, Radio Rebelde reports.
The titled immigration reform will be sent on the first day of his presidency, where Democrats seem ready to push it, amid the pandemic.
According to its statements, the document creates an earned path to citizenship for neighboring immigrants, however, it will maintain the criminal past review rule for any process, that is, this benefit for undocumented persons would NOT apply to those who have committed crimes that would disqualify them automatically.
Immigration reform was one of Biden’s promises during his campaign for the presidency and will be the subject of heated debates between Republicans and Democrats almost always at odds on this issue.
