Mayabeque, Cuba: The Valle del Perú Livestock Genetic Company collectively obtains satisfactory results in the planting of protein plants for animal feed, increasing the production of milk and meat in the province and the country.
The Director of the entity, Onel Roberto Fernández, said that before the year 2022 each unit must have the presence of these crops to support the livestock due to the lack of feed.
The Mina Blanca Base Business Unit stands out in the planting of this alternative used to increase the supply of proteins to animals.
The Director of the UEB, Osvaldo Pérez Villavicencio, said that the cattle have increased their weight to 400 grams with the use of protein plants. Due to its positive impact, they use it in rearing, a fundamental link in the production chain.
This variant of animal feed contributes to import substitution and responds to the food sovereignty and nutritional education program in Cuba.
