Mayabeque, Cuba: According to the economic strategies adopted in the country in the midst of the crisis caused by Covid-19, Melena del Sur uses alternatives to guarantee the use of all arable areas.

According to the First Secretary of the Party in the territory, Ismaris Díaz Cabrera, the objective is to group productive poles, so that no space remains to be sown, fundamentally on land belonging to Basic Units of Cooperative Production (UBPC) that today go to lease or usufruct.

?We have 10 center pivot irrigation machines there and we established three fundamental areas. One belonged to the UBPC Sierra Maestra, today a productive center of the same name, another to the former UBPC Manuel Isla along with others from the Simón Rodríguez and the third in the Guinea area, used to obtain animal feed ?, Díaz Cabrera explained.

“On both sides of the highways, the visitor can appreciate the furrowed terrain, suitable to receive the seed of other lines dedicated to export such as the orange mass sweet potato, the aloe and the habanero pepper”, Díaz Cabrera added.

“The municipality designed a strategy that in the short, medium and long term, will bring us more results for the meleneros and the municipalities of the capital where we pay?, the First Secretary of the Party in the territory concluded.
