Latin America and the Caribbean: The COVAX Mechanism will distribute some 280 million vaccines against the new coronavirus in Latin America, the Caribbean and Canada, according to information offered by the United Nations (UN), Radio Rebelde reports.
The first vaccines to arrive in Latin America in February will be those produced by the laboratories of AstraZeneca and Pfizer, while others, such as those of Novavax and Johnson and Johnson, will arrive next April, according to the UN News site.
The director of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO by its Spanish initials), Carissa Etienne, said at a press conference that the first to be immunized against Covid-19 will be the most vulnerable sectors.
