Mayabeque, Cuba: The public health personnel in San Nicolás carry out a program of activities to increase the implementation of education and prevention actions, as part of the World Day to Fight Cancer, which will last until March.
According to the specialist in communicable diseases at the Emilia de Córdova polyclinic, Mareilys Bacaro, the objective is to make the population aware of the causes that lead to the disease and provide the necessary tools to maintain an active and healthy life.
Public health personnel hold talks, debates, and evaluate educational materials in the municipality’s work and welfare centers in order to insist with citizens on knowledge about cancer prevention and control.
It is important to sensitize and mobilize society in action against cancer that affects thousands of citizens every year in Cuba.
