Mayabeque, Cuba: The Mayabeque Agro-industrial Grain Company implements economic strategies during this year for the recovery of land for rice production and the improvement of the technological process.
The entity has recovered to date more than two thousand hectares. With the land fund and part of the rescued soils, they intend to deliver 5,500 tons of grain this year, which represents a growth of 51 percent.
Repairing industrial areas will benefit seed quality, improve germination, increase yields, and increase drying capacity.
The south of the Mayabeque province is characterized by a rich tradition of rice planting. The availability of water, the agricultural culture of its producers and the viability of the soil for this crop make this area very productive.
