A demand is being prepared in the United States against a law damaging to transgender minors.

Washington: The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is filing a lawsuit today against an Arkansas state law that prohibits medical sex change treatments for transgender children, Prensa Latina publishes.

According to the progressive non-profit organization, such health care saves lives and its impairment could have devastating consequences, including death in some cases.

This decision ignores dozens of local doctors, national experts, and young transsexuals and their parents, the ACLU exposed on the social network Twitter when announcing its next steps on the matter.

It also stressed that he will be relentless in defending the rights of transgender youth in Arkansas.

Yesterday, that state became the first in the country to make it impossible for referred minors to receive hormonal therapy and surgeries to change their sex.

This initiative was approved last March by the Arkansas Legislature, under Republican rule, and was vetoed two days ago by the governor of the territory, Asa Hutchinson, also from the red party.

For their part, the Lower House and the Senate, at the state level, yesterday annulled Hutchinson’s determination with respective votes of 71-24 and 25-8 in favor and against.

Press reports pointed out that Arkansas recently approved several bills, which, in the opinion of its critics, limit the rights of the aforementioned people.

Data from the Human Rights Campaign organization indicate that there are almost 200 proposals under debate in the United States against lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transsexuals.

In order to prevent and combat discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation, President Joe Biden issued an executive order at the beginning of his term on January 20.
