Most of the Supreme Court ministers recognized the incompetence of the 13th Federal Court of the southern city of Curitiba to try the cases against the former worker leader.

On March 8, Magistrate Edson Fachin considered that audience inept to process the cases of the Guarujá triplex apartment and the Atibaia farm, in addition to two processes involving the Lula Institute.

According to the understanding of the plenary session, former judge Sérgio Moro, declared a suspect of partiality by the STF, could not have tried the cases against Lula.

The decision culminates in the annulment of the sentences handed down against the former president, for which he definitively returns to the political-electoral sphere.

In this regard, the president of the PT, Gleisi Hoffmann, described the determination of the highest court as a historic day.

The Supreme ‘confirms the rights of Lula! Historic day. It has taken a long time, but it has arrived, ‘Hoffmann wrote on social media.

She warned that there are still many actions to be taken, but Moro’s incompetence was the key step for this, the defense’s first request.

‘Thank you to everyone who stood by our side in this fight. Congratulations Lula! ‘, Strummed the PT Helmsman.

Previously, in a demonstration, the deputy highlighted the role played by the legal defense, made up of lawyers Cristiano Zanin and Valeska Martins, who “never backed down from obstacles, and to all those who participated at some point in the defense.”

For the party leader, the STF’s decision “gives back to the country and our people the hope that the future can, should and will be better … Justice for Lula is justice for Brazil,” she stressed.

In a similar vein, the defense of the former president considered that the decision of the STF restores the credibility of the Brazilian justice system.
