Fidel mostró el camino a los jóvenes de su generación y a los que hoy honran la Patria.

“With the conviction that we will continue to be faithful to the legacy of our martyrs and to the example of Fidel and Raúl,” the 8th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) was held. A young Congress, not only because of its edition, but also because of the indisputable importance of the new generation in the different tasks entrusted to the youth by the Revolution.

The Congress had a high percentage of people over 55 years of age, specifically 42, percent, but there were also the predecessors ratifying our socialist character, they supported each of the processes to which they were summoned.

If you asked me to rate that contribution, I would say extraordinary, because times are difficult, not only because of the COVID 19 pandemic, but also because of the smear campaigns driven 90 miles away and with the complicity of individuals without morals, sold to the best bidder.

The human being who respects himself does not humiliate the country where he was born, and this is how our young people have acted, with character, often from anonymity, but present, when transmitting ideas, in the innovative process of our culture.

Like the young people who participated in the exploit of Playa Girón 60 years ago, today a new generation is rising, vigorous, and above all, aware of its role in this Revolution and in line with its time.

As our eternal leader said in the speech delivered on the spot on the occasion of the first graduation from the Latin American School of Medicine, at the Karl Marx Theater, on August 20, 2005: ?If young people fail, everything will fail. It is my deepest conviction that the Cuban youth will fight to prevent it. I believe in you.
