Cubanos residentes en el exterior protagonizan campaña de donación a la isla.

Cuba: The José Martí Association of Cuban residents and the Mexican Solidarity Movement advance in the campaign to donate one million syringes to combat Covid-19 in Cuba, Radio Habana Cuba reports.

Sergio Chaviano and Olivia Garza, leaders of the association, expressed that the campaign tries to counteract the obstacles posed by the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States to obtain medical supplies to combat the pandemic in Cuba.

Cubans living abroad raised financing among groups of compatriots in various countries to acquire a container with a capacity for 1,900,000 syringes.

The initiative arose among Cubans residing in Panama, to which compatriots domiciled in Nicaragua, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Brazil, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, Bolivia, Uruguay and Mexico joined, in a project called Patria o Muerte.
