Mayabeque, Cuba: With a volunteer work in the obelisk erected on the site where Lieutenant General Antonio Maceo Grajales camped in Jaruco in February 1896, the alternative structures of the Federation of High School Students (FEEM) together with the Young Communists League (UJC) of the municipality will honor the Bronze Titan 176 years after his birth.
Marialys Romero Ávila, First Secretary of the organization of the territory, said that to date the young people will support urgent tasks of production and services, and the cleaning and sanitation of schools in the Popular Councils.
Romero Ávila specified that on June 14, at 10:30 in the morning, at the Obelisk to Antonio Maceo, they will perform a simple act to remember the legacy of that great man who, as Martí said, had as much strength in his arm as in the mind.
Jaruco´s youth will also highlight the economic thinking of Ernesto Che Guevara, on the 93rd anniversary of his birth, as a promoter of voluntary work in Cuba and defender of Socialism as a system that fights individualism and defends internationalism.
