Caracas: The Executive Secretary of ALBA-TCP, Sacha Llorenti, assured today that the United States and its allies use the Covid-19 pandemic as a weapon to reinforce illegal measures.
During an interview in the program Cruce de Palabras, of Telesur, the official of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty, declared that it is a collective punishment that those nations apply against those who do not respond to their interests.
He highlighted that Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua have managed to resist the terrible imperial offensive, thanks to the level of political awareness of the people and their leaders.
Llorenti recalled that in the midst of the battle against the pandemic, the Donald Trump administration intensified the blockade against those countries and nothing has changed.
“We are facing the challenges of Covid-19 trying to extend the work of ALBA-TCP beyond the States, we began a work with more than 30 Thought Centers to think about a common horizon for seven billion people”, he highlighted.
Regarding the creation of the Humanitarian Fund for the purchase of vaccines, he assured that the entity intends to prioritize the life and integration of peoples, while acts of piracy with these drugs are experienced in the world.
He stressed that this regional organization was born as a Bolivarian alternative to the neoliberal model and now it is reborn as a very solid alliance that resists many attacks and proposes taking a step further, towards unity.
“ALBA-TCP is a higher link in the logic of integration of our peoples and aims at unity, it has an anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist, anti-colonialist, anti-patriarchal position,” the Executive Secretary stressed during the interview.
