Mayabeque, Cuba: Artists from the Casa de la Décima de Mayabeque will participate in the 54th edition of the Jornada Cucalambeana, which will take place from June 28 to July 1, on a virtual basis.

The poets Maira de la Caridad Cruz, Yordanis Oliva and Yoniel Perdomo will represent the province, in addition to the paper The resource of the tonada, from the Master of Science Agustín Pérez.

As reported by the director of the Casa de la Décima de Mayabeque, Lázaro Palenzuela, during the Cuban peasant festival, which for the second consecutive year will be held online due to the impact of Covid-19, cultivators of the Espinela in this territory will also be represented in videos and research.

The 54th edition of the Jornada Cucalambeana is dedicated in a special way to the 192nd birthday of Juan Cristóbal Napoles Fajardo, the most important Cuban bucolic poet of the 19th century.

It also pays tribute to the 225th anniversary of the founding of the city of Las Tunas, the 60th anniversary of Palabras to the Intellectuals and the founding of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP). (IVP)
