Brazil exceeded the threshold of 520 thousand lives lost by Covid-19.

Brasilia: Today the number of deaths from Covid-19 in Brazil rose to 520 thousand 95 after the sum of two thousand 29 in the last 24 hours, reported the Ministry of Health, cited by the Latin American Information Agency (PL).

The daily report of the portfolio also indicated that 65 thousand 163 infections were reported in the same period and the total reached 18 million 622 thousand 304 from the first registered in February 2020.

The update also specified that the daily average of deaths stood at 1,565 in the last seven days and those infected at 54,117.

Similarly, the report noted that 16 million 931 thousand 272 patients  have recovered from the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19, and one million 170 thousand 937 continue to be under medical observation.

The day before a newsletter published by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) pointed out that Brazil registered an improvement in the occupancy rates of intensive care units for patients with the pathogen and only the states of Tocantins, Paraná and Santa Catarina reported figures higher than 90 percent.

“The study also highlights a drop in mortality rates, but shows that the country faces a high transmission plateau, at a level much higher than that observed in mid-2020,” Fiocruz said.

He specified that these variations may be a reflection of the vaccination campaign carried out by the South American giant.

Brazil appears as the second country in the world with the highest number of deaths from the disease, behind the United States, and the third in infected, after the northern nation and India.
