Mayabeque, Cuba: Members of the Writers Association, belonging to the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) and the CubaPoesía Project, call for the contest “Décimas por los 60”.
The contest is part of the activities for the 60th anniversary of UNEAC, to be held from August 18 to 22, the date on which its First Congress was held in 1961, Radio Camoa publishes.
The participants will be able to send one or a set of décimas that do not exceed two pages and that have as their sole theme the six decades of the founding of UNEAC and also the 60th anniversary of Fidel’s Words to the Intellectuals.
The works will be sent by email to the address: writers@uneac.co.cu. Two attached documents must be sent: in the first, the work to be entered into competition and in the second, the author’s data. The works will be sent under a pseudonym. In the topic of the message the participants will write Tenth by 60.
One work and up to two mentions will be awarded. The granted work will be presented through the mass media, on the websites and Facebook profiles of UNEAC, CubaPoesía and CubaEscritores. The winner will receive a diploma and a gift alluding to the 60th anniversary of the organization.
The jury will be made up of prestigious poets who are members of the association. The admission period ends on August 1, 2021.
