Detentions of migrant children on the United States border increase.

United States: The immigration authorities of the United States marked a maximum milestone in arrests of migrant minors in July, arresting some 19,000 children, Radio Reloj reports.

The expulsions are part of an expedited system to remove from the northern country in an accelerated manner people who arrive without authorization through Mexico, previously used by Republicans.

The number of children who crossed without parents or guardians in June, whom the Biden administration promised to resettle in the United States rather than return them to Mexico, increased 8 percent since May, more than 500 a day and in July the number exceeded the 19 thousand.

The Department of Homeland Security indicated that it would maintain the prohibition of granting asylum to single adults and families, while children traveling alone are exempt, but in practice this is not the case, as the number of minors detained is increasing.
