The president of the Commission of Economy and Finance of the National Assembly (parliament) indicated that this measure seeks to oxygenate the industry in an important way and points to the increase in the production and commercialization of Venezuelan items.

At other times, the reduction of tariffs on certain inputs responded to conditions of deficit and shortage of products in the domestic market, in response to which the economy had to be opened to guarantee supply, said the parliamentarian of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela.

He specified that currently the scenario differs from this precarious situation, and the authorities perceive a trend towards growth in productive activity; “Then, we must create the conditions for the national producer to place its items in the domestic market.”

The deputy pointed out that the National Assembly is waiting for a bill aimed at regulating state purchases, a fundamental engine for the national economy, Venezolana de Televisión reported.

This legal instrument will be submitted to the legislative debate and will help to concentrate the country’s purchasing capacity in the national industrial complex, in order to privilege domestic production over foreign production.

The previous week, the executive vice president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, announced the elimination of exemptions to almost 600 finished products that could affect lines of national production, with a view to reactivating the industry and substituting imports.

During the sessions of the technical table of the Higher Council of the Economy, the vice president explained that the measure points to a tax policy aimed at promoting the productive and economic development of the country.

The initiative will seek a strategic and gradual substitution of imports of those products that limit the take-off of the Venezuelan industrial sector in areas whose elaborations have high internal demand, the dignitary stressed.

This decision will expand the productive potential and will favor the creation of jobs, the saving of foreign currency and the recovery of the workers’ income, Rodríguez said.

?We must guarantee national consumption and the balance of prices for the population; Venezuela can produce and advance despite the blockade (by the United States), ?said the executive vice president, who highlighted the progress made in the economic recovery process.
