In the factory, women are the largest number of workers.

Mayabeque, Cuba: Workers of the Juan Martínez Carballea Factory, in the municipality of Güines, promote the production of cigars for the country and for export.

In this way they contribute to the Tobacco Development Program to maintain the leadership of Cuba and its products worldwide and also satisfy the demand of new markets.

The monthly contribution of the workers is around 45 thousand units. The aspiration is to exceed the figure to achieve greater commercialization. This was announced by the director of this factory Alexis Figuera Gácita: ?it is an exportable production that is what brings foreign currency to the country, which is on the rise, workers who were outside the center are rescued, layers are entering us, new raw material because the harvest begins and everything has been flowing well ?.

Leticia Amores is one of the workers with the most experience. “We have been working all the time, I make 230 cigars every day, it is my norm, sometimes I have made a little more.”

Maritza Carulo Hernández is the Head of Production: “we are producing daily in export tobacco, 2,700, 2,500, so the increase is seen in consumption, we are also fulfilling the plans.”
