Work of series La gloria al filo del machete.

Mayabeque, Cuba: The visual arts artist Yunier Jiménez Quintana, deputy director of the Directorate of Culture in Mayabeque, participates with works from the series La gloria al filo del machete in the virtual exhibition of the Fourth Biennial of the South Pueblos en Resistencia.

The project consists of a collection of pictorial works focused on rescuing an important stage of the Cuban emancipatory struggles, with an emphasis on specific events never collected in Cuban art.

The compilation includes seven works, five completed and two in process, and focuses on the period from 1868 to 1896, the time of the fall in combat of General Antonio Maceo and his assistant, Panchito Gómez Toro.

Other works also make up the series such as: Combat of the Loma del Hambre, Combat of Moralitos, Pact of Silence and a Combat of Many.
