Hermanos Saíz Association to Award Youth Master Prize to outstanding Cuban creators.

Havana, Cuba: Seven outstanding exponents of the Cuban culture will receive today the Youth Master Prize, awarded by the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS), immersed in the celebrations for its 35th birthday, Prensa Latina reports.

The recognition will take place at the National Library of Cuba and will honor the writer and National Film Award Senel Paz; the theatrical researcher Vivian Martínez and the choreographer and dancer Miguel Iglesias.

The list is completed by the cultural critic Manuel López, the director of the Guerrilla de Teatreros in Granma, René Reyes, the historian Luis A. Figueroa and the musician Bobby Carcassés.

According to the vice president of the AHS, Yasel Toledo, each year the list of proposals from all the country’s provinces to receive this recognition grows, which increases the complexity of selecting a limited number since there are many who deserve it.

According to him, the current call was a challenge, but it brought joy to both those chosen and designated, as the chosen intellectuals expressed gratitude and pride for adding to the list of winners of the young artistic avant-garde.

He reiterated the importance for the association to honor these consecrated intellectuals, as it is a sign of the bond and constant feedback of the entity with their works and a way of thanking them for their work in the development of letters, art and Cuban culture in general.

During the day they will make the entrance of the new members and honorary members of the group, they will award the scholarships and prizes of the organization, the 35th anniversary stamp and literary and audiovisual presentations.

On his birthday, the AHS continues to be committed to the slogan of its promotional campaign: Stay Young Art Now and Always, a phrase that evokes the words of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, in a meeting with members of the organization’s National Council in 1988. .

In that moment, Fidel said that the genesis of such an organization was justified now and always, and under such designs the group seeks to integrate and become vital to Cuban culture and society, Toledo said.

The celebrations of the Association coincide with the activities on the island for the Day of Cuban Culture, on October 20, a date that marks a journey of the creators through hospitals to give away music, literature and relieve the souls of the sick and his companions.
