Mayabeque, Cuba: There are several actions carried out by workers at the Center for Entomophages and Entomopathogens (CREE), in Batabanó, to encourage agricultural workers to apply biological means.
The relationship with the peasants is very close, since they systematically receive training on the subject, the director of the CREE of the Agricultural Company, Jorge Sánchez Núñez explained.
The objective is to ensure the effectiveness of the products in the control of pests and the link with the scientific centers of the province.
Although many prefer the use of imported chemicals, in nature there are organisms capable of achieving the same effect, with the advantage that they do not leave residues on crops. Hence the importance of extending these practices known worldwide as biological control.
