The Cuban Association of Physical–MotorLimits (ACLIFIM) is a non-profit organization with its own legal personality, founded on March 14, 1980 by a group of people with physical and motor disabilities and is officially recognized as an Association by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Cuba.
Physical-motor limitations are one of the major disabilities affecting the world’s population. In Cuba, the psychosocial study of people with disabilities, carried out nationwide in 2003, under the guidance of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, revealed that physical-motor limitations are second only to all disabilities, surpassed only by the intellectually deficient carriers.
