Paraguay: The Communist Youth of Paraguay (JCP) rejected the attempts to destabilize Cuba amid the complex situation generated by COVID-19 and the negative impact of the blockade imposed by the United States, Prensa Latina reports.
In a statement, that association denounced that demonstrations reported the day before on the Caribbean Island are orchestrated and financed from the northern nation, with the support of the continental right and anti-Cuban groups based in Florida.
The JCP accused those who took to the streets to demand changes that go beyond the real problems of Cubans of lying and misrepresenting the reality of the country.
Instead, he recalled the joint efforts of the Cuban government and people to overcome the challenges posed by the pandemic and its effects, and the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States almost six decades ago.
To understand what is happening in Cuba, he added, it is necessary to recognize the continuity of that policy by the government of current President Joe Biden, and the millions of dollars allocated to non-governmental organizations, whose objective is to destabilize the island.
The JCP reiterated its support for the Government, the people and the Communist Party of Cuba, and called on the progressive and democratic forces of Latin America “to be alert and denounce the propaganda financed by the United States and the media terrorism orchestrated by the right of the continent.”
“If you want to worry about the people of Cuba, lift the genocidal blockade,” the document concludes.
