May Day

Mayabeque, Cuba_ 18 years after the definition by Fidel Castro of the concept of Revolution, Mayabeque ratified the unity of the Cuban people and the commitment to overcome the results in the economic order.  

Mayabeque, Cuba_ This May Day parade in Güines has been the most outstanding carried out during the last 20 years, according to Marta Pérez González, general secretary of the Cuban Workers Federation, CTC, in this municipality.  

Mayabeque, Cuba_ More than 7 thousand 600 residents of Melena del Sur, marched this May Day, representing the 17 existing unions in the locality. Organization, beauty and color characterized the popular mobilization that reaffirmed the validity of Fidel’s thought and the continuity of the revolutionary process. 

Mayabeque, Cuba_ Only unity makes us strong, Nicolareños repeated in the recently held parade for May Day, a holiday for the Cuban proletariat.  

Since I was a child I always marched with my mother, her work collective and the livestock breeders of the Guaicanamar Company. I treasured the Cuban flags all year long to exhibit them that day. I loved seeing the tractors adorned with banners, ribbons, streamers and a sample of their best animals. 

Each speech of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro on May 1st, was an description of how much the people had advanced in their intense and victorious years of struggle and also the call to defend and preserve the achievements of the Revolution at any price.
