Geneva: The United Nations Human Rights Council adopted this Friday in Geneva, Switzerland, a resolution presented by Cuba to debate at the Social Forum 2021 the experiences and challenges derived from the fight against Covid-19, Radio Reloj publishes.
The initiative proposes that the annual meeting focus on addressing good practices, success stories, lessons and challenges facing the pandemic, Cuban diplomat Lisandra Astiasaran explained in the introduction to the text.
According to the counselor of the Permanent Mission of Cuba to the Office of the United Nations (UN), in Geneva, the intention is that the event treats the issue with a special focus on international cooperation and solidarity.
Lisandra Astiasaran stressed that the Social Forum is a unique space within the UN framework for open and constructive dialogue, and the active participation of civil society.
