France: The International Criminal Police Organization, Interpol, has again denied a Red Alert against former President of Ecuador Rafael Correa, who insisted that the request is part of the political persecution of which he is a target, Radio Reloj reports .
By means of an official letter from the Interpol File Control Commission, it was reported that cooperation within the universal spirit of Human Rights is inadmissible, in the case related to the former president.
The request to Interpol was made after the Ecuadorian court of appeal ratified the eight-year prison sentence imposed on Correa and former government officials.
Both the defendants and their respective defenses maintain that the charges could not be verified and that everything is part of a plot to prevent Rafael Correa’s participation in the next general elections.
