The President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, will speak on September 22 in the General Debate of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Cuba will be the seventh speaker in the morning session on the opening day of this important event, which this year will take place virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The participation of more than 170 Heads of State and Government is expected.
In addition to the central intervention of the President, the country is expected to participate in high-level events to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the United Nations (UN), the 25th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women, the Day International for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons and the Summit on Biodiversity.
