Taking into account the complex hydrometeorological situation in the Gulf of Batabanó, which affects safety for navigation during the crossing and berthing in the ports of Batabanó, Nueva Gerona and Cayo Largo del Sur, it was decided to suspend the maritime transportation of passengers and cargo between these ports from 12.00 p.m. on December 24, 2020, until it improves.

The Cuban Maritime Administration is in contact with the Institute of Meteorology to inform the population of the restoration of these services, according to the newspaper Trabajadores.

People with purchased tickets should contact, when the service is resumed, with the reservation agencies to reschedule their trips or receive a refund of the total value of the ticket, within a period of up to 15 days after the restoration of service.

The Cuban Maritime Administration apologizes to the passengers for the inconvenience caused.
