Havana: The Prime Minister of Cuba, Manuel Marrero, emphasized this Thursday on the importance and priority that the computerization processes of society have for the country, during a meeting of the Ministry of Communications (MINCOM for its acronym in Spanish), with the presence of the President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.
At the meeting, dedicated to evaluate the work carried out by that body during 2020 and the priorities for 2021, the head of Government called to look with renewed eyes at the potentialities that exist in information and communication technologies.
The minister of the Mincom, Jorge Luis Perdomo, mentioned among the work objectives for this year the expansion of broadband and digital television, the defense of national cyberspace and a secure communications system.
In addition, continue with the development of the Government and Electronic Commerce, science, technology and innovation; of postal services; the control of the radio-electric space, as well as the computerization and internal transformations.
Similarly, the participants in the meeting spoke out for expanding the platforms for teleworking, seeking new sources of income for the country, bringing ICTs to the communities and accelerating the speed of the banking processes.
The prime minister reflected on the use of social networks and how these are currently essential tools in terms of communication.
He emphasized that the enemy of the Cuban Revolution has designed its matrices to attack, confuse and deceive in this scenario, so that revolutionaries must be prepared to go on the offensive and generate content.
He gave special importance to the exchange with the public through these channels, where people express their dissatisfaction and concerns.
He urged you to take advantage of them efficiently and to be more agile in responding and solving problems.
