Havana: Cuba reported this Thursday 2952 people positive for the new coronavirus and 18 deaths in the last 24 hours as a result of the disease, Radio Havana Cuba reports.
In the usual press conference, Dr. Francisco Durán García, Director of the Department of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) reported that 43 410 patients are admitted, 11 082 are suspected cases; 15,771 are under surveillance and 16,557 are active.
Durán explained that the day before 36,202 samples were processed throughout the country for an accumulated of 5,169,286 samples taken since the beginning of the pandemic, 193,945 people (3.7%) diagnosed and 1,302 fatalities.
As for the cases diagnosed in the day 2904 are autochthonous and 48 imported. 2810 patients are contacts of confirmed cases and 48 with a source of infection abroad. The source of infection for 94 people could not be determined.
Of the total confirmed patients, 698 were asymptomatic and 1572 were female and 1380 were male. 487 people under 20 years of age were diagnosed, 438 of them in pediatric ages.
The other confirmed patients belong to the age groups: 20-39 years: 893; 40-59 years: 1017; 60 years and over: 555.
