Minister of Energy and Mines: In the coming days, the effects on the electricity service should decrease.

Cuba: The Minister of Energy and Mines, Liván Arronte Cruz, assured that in the coming days and gradually the effects on the electricity service to the population will decrease, after the incorporation of the Antonio Guiteras and Lidio Ramón Pérez thermoelectric plants (Felton),  into the national electro-energy system Prensa Latina reports.

“To the extent that these two blocks, fundamental pillars of the system, are incorporated, 500 megawatts will be available in the system, and the situation will tend to improve. This should happen in the next few days and the effects on the electricity service will gradually diminish”, the minister on Sunday in an appearance on national television.

The Antonio Guiteras thermoelectric plant, which pays 300 megawatts to the national system, is in the final phase of completing the rehabilitation works. “In the early hours of next Tuesday the block should be synchronized with the national electric power system.”

Meanwhile, block one of Felton, in the eastern part of the country, after a rigorous assembly process, is expected to complete the works early Monday, to begin adjustments and synchronization.
