Havana, Cuba: The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) reports 53 deaths from Covid-19 and 6 057 new cases of the disease at the end of July 19, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.
The national director of Epidemiology of the Minsap, Dr. Francisco Durán García, informed this Tuesday at a press conference that the patients diagnosed the day before are the result of 43,808 samples analyzed in molecular biology laboratories in the national territory.
He said 59,755 people are admitted, of them 18,790 suspects, 5,348 under surveillance and 35,617 confirmed.
Durán García detailed that the nation has accumulated 294,449 patients with SARS Cov-2 since the beginning of the disease in March 2020, and 2,019 fatalities.
Durán added that of the 6 057 new cases, 35 are imported and the rest autochthonous; 5,952 were confirmed contacts; and 70 the source of infection is not specified.
“Three thousand 106 are female and 2 951 male. At the time of performing the CRP they were asymptomatic, 634, that is, 10.5%”, he pointed out.

The specialist added that yesterday there were 4,962 medical discharges, which means that 256,757 patients have recovered from the disease (87.2%).
The expert pointed out that 327 confirmed patients are treated in intensive care, of them 148 critical and 176 severe.
Until July 19, 190 countries and 32 territories with COVID-19 cases are reported, the confirmed cases amount to 191 million 565 thousand 325 (+ 481 thousand 457) with 13 million 51 thousand 729 active cases and 4 million 109 thousand 937 deaths (+ 6,659) for a fatality of 2.15% (=).
In the Americas region, 76 million 14 thousand 215 confirmed cases (+ 164 thousand 256) are reported, 39.68% of the total cases reported in the world, with 7 million 93 thousand 156 active cases and 1 million 983 thousand 295 deceased (+ 2,599) for a fatality of 2.61% (=).
