Mayabeque, Cuba: The Mayabeque Poultry Company collective are working on several development projects with a view to increasing production, improving working conditions and expanding markets.

To achieve these objectives, the entity establishes exchange relations with the José Antonio Echeverría Technological University (CUJAE), according to the director of the Poultry Company, Ángel Luis Feria Núñez.

“In one of the projects with the CUJAE colleagues we value the development strategies from 2022 to 2026 and in the other it is for a feasibility study for the construction and use of a slaughterhouse for birds, since our company does not have none and we depend on Artemisa’s”, Feria Núñez explained.

“Among other plans we have, as requested by the highest management of the country, the linkage with other managers for the production of quail, in this case with the Credit and Service Cooperative Ignacio Agramontes, from Güines and with a producer from the urban agriculture of San Nicolás”, he argued.

Feria Núñez added that they also rely on the research of the Animal Science Institute (ICA), located in the territory. It is about the production of eggs using Vitafer or Vitaron, probiotics that are produced in this entity.

These projects of the Mayabeque Poultry Company will contribute to foreign exchange earnings and import substitution, aspects contemplated in the conceptualization of the Cuban economic and social model of socialist development and in the guidelines of the Eighth Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) for the period 2021-2026.
