Davos: The World Economic Forum (WEF) announced on Monday the postponement of its annual meeting, which was scheduled to take place in Davos, Switzerland, between January 17 and 21, 2022, due to the increase in cases of the variant Covid-19 omicron.
Through a statement, the WEF indicates that the pandemic and the existing restrictions on travel and travel “make it extremely difficult to hold a global meeting in person,” so it was decided to postpone the meeting to early summer.
“Instead, participants will participate in a series of sessions on the state of the world that will bring world leaders together online to focus on finding solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges,” reads the statement.
