Havana, Cuba: The indicators that express the behavior of COVID-19 in Havana confirm in the last few days a positive evolution of the epidemiological situation, and if they continue that way, it will propitiate that during the next 15 days the province will move towards phase one of the post-pandemic stage.
This is predicted by the mathematical models, endorse the specialists, and announced today in the Provincial Defense Council (CDP) by the highest Havana authorities, Tribuna newspaper reports.
The news was offered along with the exhortation that the whole world endorse this noble and longed-for purpose, and express it with responsible behavior and total respect for the norms and provisions implemented for the moment.
The president of the Provincial Defense Council (CDP), Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar, recently pointed out that we cannot go back, and in correspondence with what was expressed by the President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, explained that this is only possible with objective risk perception, strict discipline and hermetic closure of all gaps that allow SARS-CoV-2 to enter the body.
With what we have done so far, we have reached this point, now it is time to do more, multiply the rigor, put aside the recklessness and become aware that, even though the Cuban health system proves to be strong, the risk still exists and any oversight can reverse the results when the battle is practically to be won, he said.
Now it is time to fight and act with all rigor against those who still resist using the nasobuco (sanitary mask), violate physical distancing, in one way or another, or fail to comply with any of the other regulations called to cut the transmission chain, the president of the CDP pointed out.
