Havana: At midnight yesterday, August 4, 551 patients are admitted to hospitals for epidemiological clinical surveillance. Another 6,466 are monitored in primary health care, Dr. Francisco Durán García, director of Hygiene and Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health reported at the press conference, Cubadebate publishes.
For COVID-19, 3,732 samples were studied, resulting in 25 positive samples. The country accumulates 281 thousand 595 samples carried out and 2 thousand 726 positive (0.97%).
The 25 diagnosed cases are Cuban, 21 (84%) were contact of confirmed cases, in two (8%) the source of infection is not specified and two (8%) has source of infection abroad.
Of the 25 confirmed cases, 16 (64%) were men and nine (36%) women. The affected age groups were: 20 to 39 years old and 40 to 60 years old, 11 each for 44% respectively, two under 8 years old (8%) and over 60 years old one (4%). 60% (15) of the positive cases were asymptomatic.
Residence by provinces of the confirmed cases:
? Artemisa: 13 (5 from the Bauta municipality, 3 from the San Antonio de los Baños municipality, 2 from the San Cristóbal municipality. Caimito and Artemisa and Mariel with 1 each).
? Havana: 10 (4 from the municipality of La Lisa, Habana del Este and Marianao with 2 cases each, Boyeros and Plaza de La Revolución with 1 case each).
? Cienfuegos: 1 (from the Cienfuegos municipality)
? Guantánamo: 1 (from the Guantánamo municipality)
Of the 2,726 patients diagnosed with the disease, 240 (8.8%) remain admitted, 238 99.2% have stable clinical evolution. 88 deaths are reported (none of the day), two evacuated and 2,396 recovered patients (88%) (14 discharges of the day) accumulate. Two patients in serious condition are reported.
Until August 4, 185 countries with cases of COVID-19 are reported, amounting to 18 million 263 thousand 542 confirmed cases (+207 thousand 232) and 693 thousand 726 deaths (+4 thousand 507) for a lethality of 3.79 (-0.02).
The Americas region reports 9 million 857 thousand 801 confirmed cases (+95 thousand 129), 53.97 of the total cases reported in the world, with 367 thousand 958 deaths (+ 2 thousand 270) for a lethality of 3, 73 (-0.01).
